Tommy Miah, the Edinburgh restaurateur and organiser of International Indian Chef of the Year competition was honoured by Her Majesty the Queen in June 2017. I have known Tommy for a number of years and am a judge at the above competition. He works tirelessly to support the poor and needy in his homeland and has contributed hugely to the Indian food industry in the UK..
There was a lunch at the Spice of India Restaurant in Twickenham this afternoon (13th July 2017) in honour of Tommy and the sheer number of people that turned up to greet him was amazing. The food in the restaurant was totally home-style with chicken and mutton on the bone which I absolutely adore! The mutton curry was to die for! I certainly think. that mutton should be revived and Indian restaurants, in fact restaurants in general, should put mutton on the menu.
